C: Laparoscopic Suturing

Purpose:
This course will equip all attendees with improved suturing skills and applications during surgery. There is excellent concurrent validity with the technique described as the relative hand positions and movements are immediately transferable from the trainer to the Operation Room. At the conclusion of the course, the attendee should be able to understand ergonomics, theory and rationale for reproducible Laparoscopic Suturing & application of skills learned in relevant surgical situations.

This course will outline the place of Hysteroscopy surgery in current Gynecological practice. The role of Hysteroscopy as a diagnostic tool in relation to USG, MRI etc., along with the selection of instruments and the basic technique of diagnostic Hysteroscopy will be discussed. The choice of distention medium and the prevention and management of fluid overload will be also be highlighted. Energy sources in operative Hysteroscopy and safety measures during surgery will be discussed.
